Mit&nbsp;<em>The Dead Ones<\/em>und&nbsp;<em>Flowers of Asphalt<\/em>&nbsp;begibt er sich auf die Spuren Cocteaus. Er liebt Stroheim, studiert bei Sternberg und schreibt, Jahre sp\u00e4ter, eine huldigende Botschaft an D.W. Griffith, seinen Wahlverwandten. Er glaubt jedoch, dass im Tonfilm der<em>&nbsp;Ton<\/em>&nbsp;das Bild zu ersticken droht und der Ton selbst nur der naturalistische Schatten des&nbsp;<em>Bildes<\/em>&nbsp;ist. Sein Traum von der Errettung des Bildes und Befreiung des Tons im Film l\u00e4sst ihn ein Film-Universum aus Einzelbildern und Tonausl\u00f6schungen entwerfen. \u201eMeine Liebe zum Film ist st\u00e4rker als jede Moral.\u201d Er ist ein Einsamer und einer der Wenigen.
