Commencing with Markopoulos\u2019 first 16mm film, <em>Psyche<\/em>, which took as its source the unfinished novella by Pierre Lou\u00ffs, the trilogy is completed by <em>Lysis<\/em> and <em>Charmides<\/em>, both inspired by Platonic dialogues. All three films address homosexual themes, expressing sensuality through the symbolic use of colour and composition.
